ILDS Scholarship Program (WCD 2011)
The ILDS has long maintained that all dermatologists from around the world should have the opportunity to partake in the educational and relational benefits provided by the WCD regardless of economic background.

In total, about 400 educational scholarships will be provided for the 22nd World Congress of Dermatology and some will be provided by third party organizations such as the American Academy of Dermatology (AAD) and International Society of Dermatology (ISD). Qualified applicants include dermatologists from developing countries (Program 1), residents and fellows (Program 2).
Requirement for Scholarship Applicants
  • Age Limit: 40 years of age at the time of the WCD 2011 (May 24, 2010)
  • Applicants: Certified dermatologist (Program 1) or dermatologist in training: residents and fellows (Program 2)
  • English language comprehension is mandatory
  • Participation in at least one congress scientific activity such as a poster presentation and/or oral communication. Abstracts for oral/ poster presentations must be submitted to the Scientific Secretariat by October 31, 2010.
  • All applicants must submit appropriate verification of their educational status.
Scholarships will cover registration fees, accommodation and travel expenses. Final scholarship amounts will be based on region and the number of members who are registered with the ILDS. The numbers for each country have been announced to each national society. Participants in the scholarship program will be chosen based on recommendations from local ILDS member societies.
